Europe

Our trip started in
the town square of
Lidköping, Dec 8,
2002.
The first night in
Germany, -11°C.
If I drink some of
this maybe it'll
become warmer.
Look! I´m surfing
the table.
A 300 kilo wheelie
on a parking lot
in France.

How far out can you
go? Let's find out!
The view from our
room in the hotel
in Calpe, Spain.
Freeway in Spain. Impatient? Southern Spain.

Morocco

Finally in Africa. Time for breakfast. X-mas, 2002. Desert. Come on...

W. Sahara

Rule #1 in sand:
Full throttle!
-"What do you mean,
you don't have a
garage?"
A good running jump
from here and you'd
probably land on
the Canarie Islands..
Maximo's KTM
Adventure.
Phillipe's Honda
Transalp.

Mauretania

Phillipe managed
to get the first
puncture.
What a big
sand box...
Resting in the shadow
of a Peugeot bus.
Sahara by night. Full throttle for
500 kilometers,
totally amazing.

Senegal

Sunset in St. Louis. Diop and Edmund
on Le Robinson.
Diop sitting behind
one of his works
of art .
Self-service. Just 400 km of
lousy road left..
..for today.

Mali

Nice gravel road
in Mali.
Take a picture of me,
of me, of me!
It felt great to drive
on asphalt for a
while.
Perfect gravel. The dust in the air is
caused by the
Harmatta, a wind
bringing sand
from Sahara.

Niger

Sand in the tracks,
or perhaps tracks
in the sand.
Is this what they
call a pot hole?
Dusty. Bush camping. You're never alone
in Africa.

Kenya/Tanzania

Sunset in Zanzibar. Johan, taking a
swim in Zanzibar.
Nina, Leif, Tage,
Johan, David and
Jonas in the Upper
Hill Campsite
in Nairobi.
A tree with two birds
in Masai Mara.
A big and a small
elephant.

The king of Masai
Mara.
Buffalos. A cowboy in Masai
Mara.
Giraffe. A pool of water in
Masai Mara.

Baboon. King of the hill... Gazelle. Children and flies
in Masai Mara.
Masai.

Mt. Kenya

Johan tries some
new nifty climbing
techniques on the
Lewis Glacier.
Baillie's bivouac at
an altitude of 5050
meters.
Johan in Baillie's
bivouac.
David at 5050
meters, where we
unfortunately had
to turn around.
Johan, Robert (guide),
Peter (chef),
Christoffer (porter)
and David.

Chad

Johan relaxing in
Chad.
Hospital toilet. Boy were we sur-
prised to find our
bikes where we left
them!
These cuties kept
coming into our tent.
N'Djamena city.

Cameroon

Church in northern
Cameroon.
From sandstorm to
rain forest in two
days.
A little water on
the road.
Fantastic road to ride
on...
...before it started
to rain.

Gabon

Pool of water. Banana transport. The brown mud is
quite slippery.
Tree that has collided
with a car.
Right, maybe?

Congo

Keep it steady. 600 kilometer
"Trans Continental
Road".
Johan, the daddy. Wow, nicely shaped
hills.
Nice road in Congo.

Angola

We don't understand
what the sign says,
but we're pretty sure
it's not nice.
Wonder what it
takes to become
a crane operator
in Angola?
Oil is one of Angola's
greatest nature
resources.
One of many aband-
oned tanks.
One of many churches
with war damages.

One of many bombed
bridges.
One of many vill-
ages that have been
bombed.
When we stopped two
minutes before the
picture was taken,
not a single person
was in sight.
This used to be
an asphalt road...
...and so did this.

Namibia

We never thought
we'd get so excited
to see asphalt again
as we did in Namibia.
Asphalt close-up. Gas station in
Namibia.
I'm gonna show you
that you are alive,
Honda XRV!
Sunset.

South Africa

A sign that would
have been more
appropriate in Angola.
Vinyards Cape Town! Nelson Mandela's
cellblock on Robben
Island.
Nelson Mandela's
bed on Robben
Island.

Robben Island in
the 60s.
We won't get any
further from here.
Cape of Good Hope. Loading of the motor-
cycles in Cape Town.
